is really a single individual (Timothy R. Mayes, Ph.D.). I have created this site with an educational, not commercial, mission. As such, this site does not collect any personally identifiable information unless you contact me. If you choose to contact me then I will have your email address and any other information that you voluntarily divulge. I will never share any personally identifiable information with any third party. This website has been around in one form or another since 1995, and I have never shared any information with anybody.

Membership does not require or allow memberships. Therefore, you will never be asked by this site for any membership information (name, address, etc). I simply don't need or want this information and I have no desire to collect it. If you ever receive a request for this type of information that appears to come from this site, please let me know (see the email link in the footer of any page on this site). Additionally, I do not send any emails from this site (they would come from my personal email address).

Cookies and its advertisers may place cookies on your PC during your visit to the site. These cookies are simple text files and do not contain any personally identifiable information. You may delete these cookies or deny them using your browser settings with no adverse effects on this site. I do not personally make use of these cookies at all, but the advertisers may use them to target ads to you according to your interests. This means that you will see more relevant ads instead of general purpose ads. See how you can opt out of Google Analytics tracking and interest-based advertising below.

You may visit the sites below to learn how to block cookies in your browser:

Web Analytics Software makes use of a third-party analytics package — Google Analytics (GA). GA records certain details of your activity on the site, and attempts to determine your demographic (age, gender, location, etc.) information and your interests (sports, technology, etc.). For example, your computer's IP address, the pages that you visit, and the time that you spend on the site are all monitored. However, no information is collected that can be tied to you individually. The most "personal" of information is your computer's IP address, and this changes on a regular basis for most users (i.e., unless you know otherwise, you very likely have a dynamic IP address, so it can't really be traced to you without a subpoena and your ISP's cooperation).

This analytics information is useful to me in my attempt to improve the content of the site, and I do not use it for any other purpose. In particular, I do not in any way facilitate the merging of personally-identifiable information with non-personally identifiable information collected through any Google advertising product, or any other. In fact, I do not personally communicate in any way with advertisers or anybody else with respect to your information.

If you wish to opt-out of tracking by Google Analytics, you can do so by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising provides advertising space to certain advertisers. This is necessary due to the cost of providing the information on this site. The advertiser may track certain of your activities, such as if you click on an ad. Additionally, the advertiser may use cookies and/or web beacons for tracking purposes. This is beyond my control, but please note that I will not knowingly allow an advertiser that behaves in anything other than an ethical manner.

You can choose to disable or selectively turn off our cookies or third-party cookies in your browser settings, or by managing preferences in programs such as Norton Internet Security 2014. However, this can affect how you are able to interact with my site and other websites that you may visit. This could include the inability to login to services or programs, such as logging into forums or accounts.

You can access the Privacy Policy for Google Ads here, and's Privacy Policy here. You may opt out of Google's DART cookie by following the link. Additionally, you may change your preferences for Google's interest-based advertising by visiting their Ad Preferences Manager, or you can opt out of "interest-based" (or "behavioral") ad targeting by going to the Network Advertising Initiative Consumer Opt-Out page.
